Come Home is a raw and emotional R&B soul track sung by London-based artist Kyra Simone and produced by David Dixon, the brother of British journalist Michael Dixon, who disappeared on holiday last year. Proceeds from the UK and international release will go to the Help Find Michael Dixon fund and to missing persons charities around the world.
Kyra Simone: "When I wrote these lyrics, I connected with a deep feeling of loss but also with hope. I want to touch people who have lost someone they love and to create support from the media so that this type of thing is not brushed under the carpet."
David Dixon: "Music can go a long way -- by releasing this song I hope to reach out to even more people and to show the world that we are not going away until we get answers. I thank all those who participated in making this such a great record."
Michael Dixon walked out of his hotel room in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, on 18 October 2009 and vanished without trace. Evidence indicates he was the victim of crime. Since Michael's disappearance 12 other tourists have gone missing or been murdered in Costa Rica, a country that is marketed as a safe holiday destination. None of these cases have yet been solved.
The release of Come Home is the culmination of David Dixon's one-man campaign to find his older brother and to spotlight the lack of support for families of missing persons abroad.
Kyra Simone's music is frequently featured on BBC Radio 1XTRA and BBC 3 Radio Counties. US music magazine Onixlink: "When you combine beauty, intelligence and a smooth voice with a sweet blend of unique R&B soul, Kyra Simone is what you get."
