In this growing market where companies are focused on improving planning and efficiencies, Quintiq is pleased to be positioned by Gartner in the 2010 Supply Chain Planning Magic quadrant. We believe this underlines Quintiq's commitment to providing our customers with industry-leading supply chain planning solutions that enable them to compete more effectively on a global scale, said Quintiq CEO Victor Allis.
According to the Magic Quadrant note, Gartner expects SCP spending to accelerate in 2010, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 5.7%. Companies continue to invest in supply chain planning as they recognize that improving their planning processes is still a significant area of opportunity.
Gartner defines visionaries in the Magic Quadrant as companies that have a coherent and compelling vision and strategy that can deliver a robust and complete SCP for process automation solution to the market. Visionaries can be significant vendors that have yet to mature their capabilities fully in the area of process automation, or they can be smaller vendors with a compelling vision for how to deliver process automation to users, but they have not penetrated far enough into the market yet. As such, they likely could not handle a full range of user requirements across a wide range of industries. Visionaries usually have strong, appropriate architectures for the integration and configurability of their SCP solutions to help support end-to-end, SCP process support. They also allow users to easily change the solutions to meet the evolving needs of their SCP processes as they execute continuous improvement activities.
For inclusion in the 2010 Magic Quadrant, each vendor had to meet strict criteria which included revenue, global coverage, presence in multiple vertical industries and have a Supply Chain Planning functionality that covered at least four of the six key functional areas for SCP process automation: Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, Replenishment Planning, Available to Promise, Manufacturing Planning and Scheduling ( http://www.quintiq.com/industries/manufacturing.aspx), and Collaborative Planning. Vendors were further evaluated on market understanding, product strategy, vertical/industry strategy, geographic strategy, product/service and other criteria.
