About Gareth
For those of you who are not geologists, a tuff is a volcanic rock, made up of solidified ash. Hence the pun as my blog title. Actually, my research involves very little tuffs. Lots of lavas, some pumices but no tuffs...
I graduated with a BA and MSci in Geology in the summer of 2010, and I am currently studying for a PhD at Blaise Pascal University in Clermont-Ferrand, France. My PhD is on magma mixing before the Cape Riva eruption of Santorini, in the Aegean.
