About Claire
Welcome to Darwin 2.0, where I'll do my best to explain the latest advances in evolutionary theory to non-biologists and discuss the ways evolutionary ideas are used (and misused) in anthropology, economics and politics.
I'm an evolutionary theorist in the Department of Zoology at Oxford University. My specific interest is applying evolutionary theory to help us understand human evolution. Most of my work consists of doing maths on fast computers, but what I do is in collaboration with economists, archeologists, linguists, philosophers and anthropologists (as well as biologists).
I have an MPhil from Cambridge University in Development Studies (Economic and Institutional Development) and an BSc in Biological Science, with an Honours in Zoology from the University of Edinburgh
