I have degrees in engineering and physics and have now retired from a career spent developing new aircraft ranging from commercial transports to vertical takeoff and landing fighters. After seeing that the field of moral philosophy remains as confused as I remember from my University days, I have finally found my happy place regarding morality by understanding social morality as an evolutionary adaptation. That science is also not yet settled, but I can see how it might become settled and no more controversial than the rest of science.
