Resident in Seattle, WA since 1987. Studied computer science, anthropology, biology, and mathematics at Ventura College and the University of California at Santa Barbara, then had to drop out due to failing health. I have kept up with reading in all those subjects as well as cosmolgoy and astronomy ever since -- when you're in really bad health, you have a lot of time for reading. Have been an omnivorous 24/7 reader of science fiction since age 8, when I read Arthur C. Clarke's CHILDHOOD'S END. I love cats, ferrets, roses, houseplants, bonsaied avocado plants, geraniums, and escallonia.
