The 'natural' movement is not evidence-based but the beliefs of progressives that modern science is killing us and ancient ways are more nutritious usually aren't harmful. Your risk of E. coli and higher levels of toxic pesticides from organic food is certainly greater, but in a relative risk sense all food is safe.

Except raw milk. Like sushi when you are pregnant, the risks, in this case 700X the harmful outbreaks of pasteurized milk, are not worth it, and anyone who has seen a dairy farm and isn't selling raw milk to rich coastal elites knows it.

The lack of oversight and denial that bacteria exist makes such farms riskier in many ways, and eventually even California, with its unreal tolerance for alternatives to science and medicine and health, will shut you down. That is why RAW FARM of Fresno has been told to cease operations and recall all milk products.

Raw Farm knows its market. If you want to be thin and young and buy Mason jars to look "rustic" even though you are a wealthy anti-science elite in San Francisco, you are their customer. Just don't give this old-timey pathogen to your children. Image: Raw Farm.

"This is a natural process. It's not something that's extraordinary, something I didn't do wrong or right. It's Mother Nature and what she's doing with viruses, which is a natural process that happens every year," according to the owner of the 1,700-strong herd, Mark McAfee. "There's literally nothing a farmer can do to avoid a sweep or a wave of avian flu in cows."

As usual in the organic and raw community, he's only thinking about rationalizing how it can't be prevented but there is a 100% way to prevent H5N1 avian influenza virus in milk, and 50% of raw milk contains it, according to FDA. It is called pasteurization and has saved over 1,000,000,000 lives.

Fortunately, only California customers are impacted. Though raw milk hucksters keep pressing lawmakers to allow it, it is still illegal to sell milk across state lines without a real inspection process, and since half of all raw milk contains Bird Flu due to distrust of science, it isn't profitable to insure safety.
