Environmentalists prey on the poor, which ironically harms the poor the most because they are most impacted by high-cost foods like the kind made using the organic process of companies that fund environmentalists to undermine competitors.

Mexico has many problems, and they are nearly all caused because people with money control too much of government. It's a country deep in oil, with a government monopoly on oil, that still somehow manages to lose money on oil during record oil prices.

That is only possible when corrupt progressive government is in charge. It is how California managed to misplace $24 billion earmarked toward helping the homeless people the Governor recruited to the state, how the state spent $10 billion for a high-speed railroad that will now be $100 billion before it has even broke ground, and wasted hundreds of billions on solar and wind, which created the highest utility costs in America.(1)

Yet environmentalists count on being able to use government against itself that way, and they have been aggressively engaged in propaganda related to the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement to prevent Mexico from using any science in growing corn - or even allowing it (their moronic anti-science blogger even wrote "The U.S. has yet to show that its GM corn is safe for Mexicans to eat") in the country from the US and Canada. To create hysteria, they target the poorest people and claim Big Corporations don't care about them. It is all very White Savior and European. Except Mexicans who know history remember the last time Europe tried to save them.

Corn in Mexico. Anti-science activists want to stop that, and if poor brown kids are harmed, they regard that as acceptable losses. Link: FarmDocDaily.

That may be why the panel sides with science over environmentalists. Mexicans secretly want that, but they don't want to be targeted, so in back channels they will express their approval but in public will be able to say they had no choice.

We will know for sure in November, and after that Mexico will have 45 days to stop its foreign-funded war against affordable food.

NOTE:

(1) So corrupt that when the Governor got his legislature to pass a special new, higher minimum wage for 'fast food employees', he created a loophole that would exempt his school pal. It resulted in food costs so much higher that fast food employees are now demanding another raise, because they can actually afford less than before.
