Two human skulls were mailed to Brigham Young University recently, to a department that doesn't exist ("BYU Historical Department") with a return address that doesn't exist, "Jim Crow, Route 3-126, Augusta, Mont."
But that isn't the only mystery. A television station then reported the skulls were determined to be from about 1100 to 1300 A.D. , which didn't happen, while an Associated Press story noted that a Utah state archaeologist had examined the skulls. Not so, the puzzled archeologist named Kevin Jones told FoxNews.com.
The skulls will be turned over to Utah's Native American leaders, a fact that Jones confirmed -- sort of.
