Metabolism = anabolism-catabolism
In plant science metabolism is sum total of anabolic processes i.e. photosynthesis which make complex substances from simple molecules to catabolism i.e. respiration which utilizes complex molecules synthesised during anabolic processes and releases energy which help undertake plants its different functions.Plants always keep positive energy balance which allows them to grow . So is day to day life. Our inputs to life have to exceed the outputs to sustain growth and happiness.
Happiness is not much different . It’s a sum total of anabolism what we contribute to our home family, society, world and catabolism is what we remove from it.
Gifts , flowers exchange of positive ideas , help in need , trust , faithfulness, are all anabolic processes while expectations are all catabolic processes. When our expectations far exceed our contributions the life withers. It is not one day affair . Its cumulative effect. Partners of 30 to 40 years in west and partners of 3 to 5 years in east snap ties not in one day . Its cumulative effect of anabolism and catabolism of life.
When people , governments, societies, world populations start deriving more than what they contribute the sustainable growth is checked and a downward flow starts.
A plant has to be watered each day, a flower has to be admired each day likewise life has to be lived on day to day basis and energy balance of anabolic processes and catabolic processes has to be equal or more than one to sustain life , happiness, and progress. Its positive metabolic balance that makes nations grow or families thrive , or earth to survive.
