SAN FRANCISCO, July 20 --

- New Advisory Board Members Clint Hocking and Michael Capps Round Out GDC 2010
Roster of Industry Veterans Reviewing Submissions and Helping to Program the
Conference Content

The call for submissions to present lectures, roundtables, panels and poster
sessions at the 2010 Game Developers Conference(R) (GDC) is now open through
Friday, August 14th. GDC, the annual conference dedicated to the art, science
and business of games returns to San Francisco’s Moscone Convention Center
March 9 - 13, 2009. Session proposals can be submitted via the official GDC
website at http://www.gdconf.com.

The GDC submission process is divided into a three-phase system, beginning with
this initial call for submissions and continuing with the first review and
resubmit phase and then final review. Session formats this year include 25-
and-60-minute lectures, as well as panels, roundtables, one or two day tutorials
and poster sessions. The GDC advisory board will review and determine
submissions based on the criteria of concept, depth, organization, credentials
and takeaway.

submissions can be found at

GDC is also pleased to announce the addition of Ubisoft Creative Director Clint
Hocking and Epic Games President Michael Capps to the 2010 advisory board. Clint
Hocking, during his eight year tenure at Ubisoft, has worked as level designer,
game designer, script writer and creative director on top titles including the
original Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Far Cry 2. Michael
Capps, in addition to being president of Epic Games, makers of the hit titles
Unreal and the Gears of War franchise, also serves on the board of the Academy
of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS), and the Entertainment Software
Association (ESA).

No one better understands the needs of this community than the world-class
developers who attend the GDC each year, nor is there anyone better equipped to
offer the experience and wisdom that make up the conference program, said Meggan
Scavio, director, Game Developers Conference. This is an important time for us.
It’s when we gather the thoughts on technologies, techniques, ideas, and
opinions that are most pressing in our industry today. We are also very excited
to see the unique perspectives that both Clint Hocking and Michael Capps will
bring to the advisory board and to the conference content as our newest advisory
board members.

Tracks at GDC 2010 include Audio, Business and Management, Game Design,
Production, Programming and Visual Arts. For further information and to begin
