- Cremer Care Replaces Petrolatum With Vegetable Alternative

Vegetable based raw materials do play an increasing role in the cosmetics production process. The North German company Cremer Care, a leading producer of natural raw materials for the cosmetics industry, is a global manufacturer that succeeded in finding a natural, purely vegetable alternative to petrolatum - which has been used in the industry since 1859. Thus the motto of the Hamburg based company - 'Inspired By Nature' - is forcefully animated.

Cremerlin(R) has been developed by Bernd Brinkmann of the 'Walter Rau Neusser Öl und Fett AG', a subsidiary of the Cremer Gruppe. Several previous attempts to produce a vegetable replacement for petrolatum fell through. Pioneer developer Brinkmann puts it in a nutshell: 'Relying on fossil oil as the basis of petrolatum is definitively not up-to-date anymore. All the more we are glad that after exactly 150 years of using this oil gel, we have found a vegetable alternative.'

The need for purely vegetable cosmetic ingredients is constantly growing and this very much ties in with the people's awareness for sustainability.
