DUBLIN, October 11, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Residents of the Isle of Man are enjoying quicker, easier visits to the post office now that new technology has been installed to help them pay bills and choose the right postal rates for their mail.
Self-service kiosks have been introduced to the British Crown dependency to give customers even speedier service and provide all the help they need to make fast and accurate transactions and select the right postal service.
The automated post and bill payment kiosks rely on innovative software called Ripostekiosk from postal counter automation experts Escher Group and enable customers to not only access postal services but also pay electricity, gas and telephone bills and even local government rates.
The kiosks were installed after Isle of Man Post Office customers expressed a desire to use a self-service option. Called 'Pay Post', the first kiosks were recently launched at the flagship post office in Regent Street in the capital, Douglas.
Marty Quine, General Manager Retail Network, Isle of Man Post Office, said: Through these kiosks, customers now have a quicker, more efficient option that will see transactions completed in a matter of seconds. Not only is this a huge benefit to those people who like to manage their own transactions, it frees up counter staff to give more attention to customers who prefer to discuss their needs face-to-face.
Escher Group chief executive Liam Church said: The Isle of Man Post Office is a progressive organization that understands that different customers want to transact in different ways. Escher's Ripostekiosk software extends the post office's services in a new way, enabling them to deliver multi-channel solutions in a rapidly changing retail environment.
