TAMPA, Florida, December 9 /PRNewswire/ -- GameStreamer, Inc., a digital distribution network, announced it has formally expanded its digital distribution services into Europe. Hosted in Savvis' London data center, GameStreamer's European based white label game stores will now deliver site content and download or stream video games much faster to their European consumers. VGChartz.com, a top 20 videogame website, is the first European customer to open the virtual doors of its downloadable games store powered by GameStreamer's white label digital distribution services.
In addition, GameStreamer has selected Neustar's UltraDNS Traffic Controller service to multi-home and route traffic based on performance between the three GameStreamer data centers.
As one of the top videogame industry news sources and provider of unique retail sales estimates it was important for VGChartz to partner with a company that also has their pulse on games, said Brett Walton, CEO of VGChartz Ltd. GameStreamer provides us relevant content packaged in a store design that's consistent with our brand, helping us generate revenue from our existing traffic.
The world's leading gaming platforms continue to grow in popularity, achieving global scale through robust hosted service models that deliver better performance at lower costs, said David Shacochis, VP of Research and Development for Savvis. Savvis is pleased to provide the hosting infrastructure underpinning GameStreamer and we look forward to working with them as they continue to grow as a leading digital distribution video game provider globally.
Alex Berry, senior vice president of Internet Registry Services at Neustar, added, GameStreamer is doing some very sophisticated networking applications, and is bringing the highest level of performance and availability to downloadable video games. We're pleased that they've entrusted Neustar's UltraDNS Traffic Controller service to multi-home their data centers based on performance routing.
We are thrilled to help GameStreamer meet their growing business needs, said Jeff Drescher, vice president of Marketing, BakBone. NetVault: Replicator allows GameStreamer to focus on expanding their business and providing seamless service to their customers without constantly managing their replication processes across their enterprise class geographically disbursed data centers.
Video games are now the fastest growing segment of the entertainment market surpassing US movie box office revenues in 2008. Consumers simply enjoy playing video games so bringing games content to websites like VGChartz can help them convert their traffic to revenue, commented Timothy Roberts, co-founder and CEO of GameStreamer. As high speed bandwidth connects more consumers and more devices to the Internet, digital distribution of games will continue to grow in demand. Our relationship with Savvis gives us the Tier-1 network infrastructure we can depend on to enable our technology to deliver the best user experience.
