WINDSOR, England, January 14 /PRNewswire/ --
- DataFlux(R) dfPower(R) Studio Will Analyse, Improve and Control Data Within the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity Donations Database That Contains Over 3.5 Million Records
Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity - the fundraising arm of Great Ormond Street Hospital, the world's premier children's hospital - has chosen DataFlux, a leading provider of data quality and data integration solutions, to help it gain a unified view of its donations database. DataFlux dfPower Studio was selected for its powerful data profiling and real-time data quality tools, which will enable Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity to investigate, standardise, de-duplicate, cleanse and verify data residing within the charity's 'Raisers Edge' database at the point of capture.
The specialist donations database contains 3.5 million financial records held on over 500,000 donors made up of individuals and businesses that support Great Ormond Street Hospital. The implementation of DataFlux technology has allowed fundraisers to improve data quality, which improves communication with the donors and provides a greater understanding of each individual donor. By implementing dfPower Profile, a component of the dfPower Studio suite, the charity is also able to investigate data held on donors by geographic and socio-economic categorisation. This information provides a clear representation of a donor's likely level of contribution, allowing for targeted fundraising in geographic areas where Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity has a low penetration.
"IT plays a vital role in underpinning our operations, and the DataFlux dfPower Studio suite offers clear efficiency benefits through a consistently reliable, comprehensive view of our donors. We are already seeing how this will help us build long-term relationships and understand where we can unlock further funding," commented Matt Forrest, Head of Community Fundraising, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.
"Operationally we are able to use dfPower Studio to customise data quality business rules, allowing us to define how data is managed and ensure its integrity and cleanliness. The customised design environment means we can be confident that our data assets will deliver significant value for years to come," added Laura Shobiye, Head of Business Support, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.
Colin Rickard, Managing Director, EMEA, DataFlux said: "We are witnessing increased take-up of data quality technology by organisations seeking to assess customer value, manage product data and improve the standard of operational data within enterprise ERP and CRM systems. Organisations must manage the quality of data assets in real time at the point of data entry if they are to optimize operational transactions, drive insight and increase competitiveness".
Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity secured over GBP26 million for Great Ormond Street Hospital during 2006 to help fund a GBP19.4 million redevelopment programme and plays a vital role within the organisation. Under the terms of the deal DataFlux has supplied licenses for the dfPower Studio, design environment of the DataFlux Data Quality Integration Platform. The platform also includes the DataFlux Integration Server and provides the foundation for DataFlux Accelerators, which are designed with pre-built workflows for rapid improvement of corporate data.

About GOSHCC
About Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity: Every year we need to raise GBP50 million through charitable donations. Whilst the NHS meets the day to day running costs of the hospital, the fundraising income allows Great Ormond Street Hospital to remain at the forefront of child healthcare. Without it we would not be able to offer the same specialist treatments and services and to have the buildings and paediatric equipment that we need. We would also not be able to continue the level of pioneering research that has led to so many new advances for children both in the UK and across the world
