VIENNA, Austria, January 17 /PRNewswire/ --
- From January 31 to February 1, Vienna Will Become a Hub for Environmental Technology and Renewable Energies
Speaking on the urgent need for an energy revolution, US economist Jeremy Rifkin said during his Vienna visit last year that he hoped the EU and Austria would play a pioneering role. Now, the internationally renowned futurologist is returning as the keynote speaker of envietech 2008, the first European congress for environmental technology and renewable energies. The conference will take place at the Austria Center Vienna under the patronage of the Austrian Ministry for the Environment from January 31 to February 1, 2008.
For two days, Vienna will become the international hub for issues of environmental technology and renewable energies. The goal of this European event at the "Vienna bridge" is to encourage the transfer of information and flow of investments between East and West, and to permanently strengthen the growth potential of the energy and environmental technology sector. The program arranges for top-class presentations given by experts in two simultaneously running congress tracks. Personal networking will be encouraged by face-to-face business talks.
A trade exhibition will present the latest developments and solutions in the areas of water management, waste management, renewable energies, services, and technology transfer. The list of presenters spans from major European enterprises such as STRABAG AG to specialists like Komptech GmbH, a company from Styria specializing in waste technology and biomass, all the way to municipalities like the city of Graz.
Envietech 2008 is a climate-neutral congress. All CO2 emissions from the event are compensated for by investments in recognized climate protection projects.
