NEW YORK, February 23, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Kantar Health, a leading healthcare-focused global consultancy, today announced that Natalie Shalet, Senior Consultant, Treatment Value, will present at eyeforpharma's Market Access Europe 2010 Conference. The conference will take place March 2-3, 2010, at the Regent's Park Marriott Hotel in London.
Ms. Shalet's presentation, titled Cost Containment: Variations Within and Among EU Countries, will discuss:
- The role pricing plays in politics - How innovative risk-sharing schemes improve the value proposition of high-priced therapies - The power of value demonstration solutions-utilize effective ways to identify, measure, and show value of the product
The presentation is recommended for market access managers, pricing managers, marketing and international brand managers, and market researchers.
EU governments face the daunting task of maintaining nearly universal coverage in this era of rising treatment costs, Ms. Shalet said. Cost-containment measures vary from brute force methods, such as mandated price cuts, to risk-sharing schemes that improve a therapy's value proposition but at a cost of administrative complexity. The most effective concepts are migrating not only among various EU markets but also between the United States and the EU.
Ms. Shalet has worked as a Clinical Research Associate focusing on oncology trials based in Europe, then in finance in Mergers and Acquisitions doing IPOs for small Pharma and biotech companies and looking at acquisition targets for clients. Ms. Shalet's academic background is in science, specifically biological sciences. Ms. Shalet completed a B.S. in Molecular Cell Biology and a Master's in Clinical Oncology, both at the University of Nottingham.
