LOS ANGELES, February 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Since 1996, Growing Generations has been a company passionately dedicated to the vision of creating life and in the process, changing the world. The company's mission is simple-to make it safer, easier, and more enjoyable for individuals and couples, surrogates, egg and sperm donors, and other professionals, to grow families through assisted reproduction. To build on this mission, Growing Generations is pleased to announce that it has appointed Andrew Ferren as its Director of Client Development, Europe.
Based in Madrid, Ferren will provide informational consults and serve as liaison for Growing Generations clients throughout Europe and the Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America.
"I first came to Growing Generations as a client and as an intended parent through surrogacy, I understand the importance of receiving straight answers, as well as compassionate, supportive direction throughout the process," said Ferren. "After several unsuccessful attempts at surrogacy in India, my husband and I decided that if we were going to commit the financial resources necessary for surrogacy in the United States, we wanted to work with the best agency available. My new position with the company underscores my belief that we made the right decision in choosing Growing Generations. As awareness of surrogacy in the United States continues to grow internationally , so does the need to provide clear information to prospective parents, and I look forward to helping other hopeful couples and individuals abroad understand and navigate this complex but highly rewarding experience."
After studying art history at Pomona College, Ferren has worked for 20 years in media and public relations, first at leading U.S. cultural institutions like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and LACMA. Since 2002, he has lived and worked as a journalist in Spain, writing on travel, culture, and lifestyle for publications like The New York Times, Town & Country, ELLE Decor, and the leading Spanish newspaper El Pais. As an American citizen living abroad, Ferren has a unique understanding of both the U.S. health care system and the issues that face international clients as they embark on the process of creating their families.
"We are thrilled to have someone of Andrew's background and expertise join our team," said Growing Generations CEO Stuart Miller. "In addition to his very impressive resume, he brings a compassion and caring to his position."
As the first agency committed to assisting members of the gay and lesbian community, Growing Generations offers surrogacy, egg donation and sperm donation programs for all family types, regardless of marital status or sexual orientation. Additionally, through recent advances in technology, Growing Generations is now able to provide services to HIV-positive men, who can safely use their own sperm to expand their families.
