GOTHENBURG, June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Mentice, a leading developer of medical simulation solutions, today announces collaboration with Dr. Pieter Stella as Clinical Advisor to Mentice. Dr Stella will mainly focus on coronary intervention but will also be an important advisor for endovascular intervention in general to increase Mentice's clinical experience within the endovascular area.
Dr. Stella is currently the head of the Interventional Cathlab and Clinical Research & Development at the University Medical Centre of Utrecht (UMCU), the Netherlands. He received his training as a general cardiologist at the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis in Amsterdam (1997) and finished his interventional training at UMCU in 1998. Dr. Stella has participated in multiple interventional trials with several devices and intracoronary brachytherapy. Since early 2000 Dr. Stella has worked with virtual simulation as a teaching and education tool at several teaching institutes in Europe.
Mentice and Dr. Stella have previous experience working together on development projects for the medical device industry. The plan now is to establish a long-term collaboration with Dr. Stella to improve the company's product offering for the hospital market.
