EN 60601-1 compliance is a very important aspect of the safety and performance criteria for medical equipment designs, states Bill Chesney, Vice President of Sales for Multi-Tech Systems, Inc. And, by using EN 60601-1 approved components, designers save both time and resources by not having to seek separate approvals. It is also part of Multi-Tech's larger family of embedded solutions that integrate connectivity into a single Universal Socket Connectivity design.
Designed to provide sufficient electrical isolation between the Ethernet and serial interface for medical applications, the MT100SEM-L-HV SocketEthernet IP Device Server is a space-efficient module (1-inch x 2.5-inch) that integrates a complete TCP/IP protocol stack and a serial-to-Ethernet interface into a single universal socket design.
