MARLOW, England, July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- NetDespatch has helped Nordic Parcel get
its global parcels business off to a flying start. Through its innovative web
software, NetDespatch is saving the company the high cost of implementing
in-house based logistics systems. Based in Tallinn, Estonia, Nordic Parcels
selected the software as a service (SaaS) Velocity International solution to
fully automate its booking, tracking and parcel labelling processes.
With the solution, Nordic Parcel's services are not confined within country
boundaries, allowing customers throughout Scandinavia to access a high quality
international express service with online booking and full traceability via the
company's multilingual website. Customers simply go to the company's website and
log in using their own password to order a collection, print their parcel labels
and track consignments all through the NetDespatch fully hosted and managed
system. Once the customer requests a collection the system also assigns the
appropriate local courier.
Although Nordic Parcel is a new company, Jari Vainio, the firm's CEO, has a
wealth of experience in the parcels logistics market having held senior
positions with companies such as DHL. When setting up Nordic Parcel he knew that
he would need big company IT to support his ambitions for company and that SaaS
was the answer.
Our aim was to be able to provide a full range of international services from
the start. We would need to be able to work with customers and logistics
partners across the whole of Scandinavia and beyond. This would entail
sophisticated technology. SaaS was going to be important as it would allow us to
gain the benefit of robust logistics IT without the need for heavy investment in
our own in-house systems. I had heard of NetDespatch and I knew that Velocity
International would be ideal for our needs, says Jari Vainio.
The solution integrates seamlessly with Nordic's bespoke enterprise system.
This eradicates data duplication as all information is held centrally and makes
it easy to share accurate information with logistics partners.
Web-based technology has been a key element in establishing our company. We
have already won some significant business from large electronics manufacturers
and most of our customers are based outside of Estonia. We think that this is
impressive growth considering we only went live with Velocity International at
the beginning of the year. It is a superb system and I would recommend it to any
other company looking to extend its services internationally, concludes Jari
Vainio.
