FREIBURG, Germany, December 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Jedox AG has significantly increased the downloads of Palo, its open source business intelligence (BI) software. Currently, Palo is downloaded considerably more than a thousand times per week. To further extend the circulation of Palo as Europe's leading open source BI software, starting December 1 2010 Palo will release the manuals for the Palo OLAP Server 3.0 and the Palo ETL Server 3.0 for free download. The two comprehensive manuals were previously only available for a charge. Excel users can avoid the dreaded Excel chaos and ensure consistent data. Palo is available via Excel or via the Web, and covers the entire scope of business intelligence and corporate performance management, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, dashboarding and analysis.
As an open source vendor, Jedox relies on a combination of freely available software and fee-based additional services such as consulting and support. Jedox CEO Kristian Raue explains: By releasing the manuals, we are responding to growing interest in Palo and are making it easier for users to begin using our software. We now offer both fully functional BI software and the corresponding documentation for free download.
The Palo OLAP Server 3.0 manual with 389 pages and the Palo ETL Server 3.0 manual with 67 pages are available in German, English and French. All manuals were updated as of November 20, 2010.
