Praetorian plans to integrate Savi's real-time information into its own system as a value-added service to improve visibility on the location, security and condition of both defense and commercial shipments transported throughout the country.
Savi's software suite automates visibility on the location, security and condition of shipments because it can receive real-time data from wireless monitoring devices affixed to containers or assets. Savi's active Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags (http://www.savi.com/products/rfid/) can be equipped with sensors to monitor security breaches, temperature or humidity, and can be linked with Satellite Communications or Global Positioning (GPS) systems to provide continuous visibility anywhere, anytime.
Praetorian recognizes the extra value of offering Savi's real-time information to better manage and protect customers' shipments, whether for commercial or defense purposes, said Fahad Hussain, chief executive officer of Praetorian.
Savi's automated supply tracking and management solutions have literally been honed on the battlefield, and they're highly configurable to improve operational efficiency and security throughout all kinds of supply chains, said David Stephens, chief executive officer of Savi Technology. We're pleased to extend our network capabilities in Pakistan with Praetorian, which is a long-time trusted company that's done business with global public and private sector organizations.
Praetorian also plans to leverage the Savi SmartChain(R) (http://www.savi.com/products/software/) Enterprise Platform and suite, including shipment, asset and consignment management applications. The commercially operated network in Pakistan and Savi Consignment Management Application (CMA) already provide in-transit information to major organizations. Elsewhere, a number of commercial businesses in the retail, aerospace, logistics and petro-chemical industries also use Savi Shipment Management or Savi Asset Management to improve operational efficiency, asset utilization and inventory levels.
Savi's software, which can be purchased as a license or as a hosted managed service, is compatible with standards-based RFID devices, including those based on DASH7 (ISO-180007), ANSI or NATO's Standardization Agreement 2090, enabling interoperability when needed. In addition to providing real-time, in-transit information, Savi's asset and supply management offerings provide automated alerts, analytics, and audit histories.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin , Savi is a leading provider of supply chain information and technology solutions and services. These capabilities include real-time solutions based on active Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and other Automatic Identification and Data Capture technologies that improve the visibility, management and security of supply chain assets, shipments and consignments.
