LONDON and CHICAGO, June 2 /PRNewswire/ --

With MiFID now well into its second year, RTS Realtime Systems Group on June 10 is hosting the third and final event in a series of original roundtable discussions, The MTF Roundtable Series 2009, to evaluate the impact of the directive on the European cash equity markets. The first-of-its-kind series of roundtables feature discussion and debate about issues affecting the entire trading community with senior officials from all of the major Multilateral Trading Facilities (MTFs) as well as their counterparts at European equity exchanges, together on a panel for the first time.

The roundtable will take place in London in conjunction with International Derivatives Week on June 10 at 2:15 p.m. London time at the Barbican Centre on Silk Street.

The concept of MiFID was implemented in a period of economic growth and prosperity to achieve greater price transparency, increase investor protection, ensure best execution and open up a market that was perceived to be mainly controlled by a few big players.

Key topics of the roundtables will be:

- Taking a step back - has MiFID succeeded? Is Best Execution working? - What has MiFID meant for the buy side - better value or lots of headaches and technology cost? - What is the future for traditional exchanges? - MTFs or traditional exchanges- who is using them and why? - Smart Order Routing - smart enough? - Best Execution: Explicit vs. implicit trading costs - Sponsored access, co-location, risk management

The discussion will be moderated by John Howard, CEO and Publisher of Automated Trader Magazine. Panelists will include:

- ARCA Europe - Cees Vermaas, Executive Director, Sales Relationship Management - BATS - Mark Hemsley, CEO, BATS European Markets Division - Chi-X - Hirander Misra, COO - London Stock Exchange (LSE) - Hugh Brown, Head of Secondary Market Production Development - Nasdaq OMX - Todd Golub, COO - Turquoise - Eli Lederman, CEO - Xetra - Michael Krogmann, Executive Director - Head of Sales, XETRA Market Development

Market participants can RSVP to events@rtsgroup.net.
