SHANGHAI, January 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Quintiq announces today that SAPA Heat Transfer (Shanghai) Ltd. (SHTS) has decided to extend the Quintiq Company Planner and Scheduler for the planning and scheduling of new work shops in Shanghai, China. The planning solution will support the company in Shanghai in distributing the workload over the old and new facilities, and maximize the capacity utilization, while keeping total inventory to a minimum.
SHTS started to cooperate with Quintiq China in 2006. At that time, Quintiq enabled SHTS to improve its delivery performance, reduce inventory and optimize manufacturing bottlenecks. Due to the earlier beneficial cooperation, SHTS re-elected Quintiq to support the utilization of the new facilities.
The capacity of SHTS has almost doubled due to the extension, and the new facilities have adopted the latest manufacturing technology. The benefits of these include shorter lead times, higher output, and an excellent product quality. SHTS therefore wants to use the new facilities as much as possible. When distributing orders, SHTS needs to consider more factors such as due date, the need to balance capacity over the old and new workshops, and the different production capabilities. The system will be integrated with the existing Quintiq APS system.
