LONDON, February 16 /PRNewswire/ --

- Has Saved Users Over 4 Million Hours - EUR55 Million - in Just Two Years

SpinVox, a global leader in voice-to-content messaging, has today announced that it has converted more than 100 million voice-to-text messages. This number has been achieved in just two years since its service started to be rolled out with carriers around the world.

To put this into context, 100 million messages is the equivalent of over 3,000 complete works of Shakespeare or Bibles. Stretched end-to-end the messages would reach more than 100 times around the world. More importantly, by using SpinVox voice-to-text conversion service, which is around seven times faster than conventional typed input, its users have so far saved themselves more than four million hours - the equivalent of EUR55 million* - or nearly an incredible 500 years since starting to use the service.

SpinVox is one of Europe's biggest business success stories of recent times - in just five years since it commenced operations, it has become the world's largest commercial speech platform. The company was set up by co-founders Christina Domecq and Daniel Doulton in 2003 to revolutionise the way that people are able to communicate with each other and now operates on five continents, having signed deals with 13 carriers. Mobile phone users are able to send text messages directly to mobile phones, email or even to their blog or social network simply by using their voice which SpinVox automatically converts to text. It saves time, as well as bringing the immediacy and personal feel of a voice message to users but with the convenience of being able to read text.

Christina Domecq, CEO and co-founder says of the milestone, Speaking is the most powerful form of communication and, so we are delighted to have helped our users to communicate 100 million messages to their friends and family, transforming the value of speech in doing so.

Whether it's saying a quick 'hello!' or sharing exciting news, she continues, in today's busy and interconnected world our service is proving a lifesaver for people who want to stay in touch, but don't have enough time. It is testament to the quality and usefulness of our solution that our business has grown so quickly, and we are already looking forward to delivering our 200 millionth message.

SpinVox user numbers are predicted to reach 150 million by the end of 2009.
