MUMBAI, India, September 10 /PRNewswire/ --
- First Global Service Provider From India to Achieve Cisco Powered Status for Managed Security Services
Tata Communications a leading provider of a new world of communications, announced today that it has been awarded the Cisco(R) Powered Managed Firewall, Managed IDS/IPS, Managed Internet and Managed MPLS VPN service designations.
By meeting all necessary criteria to achieve certification as a Cisco Managed Services Channel Partner (MSCP) worldwide, Tata Communications has taken another key step in demonstrating its commitment to service excellence and global managed service leadership.
Managed Services Channel Partner status comes with a Cisco Powered Managed Services designation, which indicates that the service has been designed to meet rigorous requirements that are based on the highest level of customer value, industry standards for service delivery, and Cisco's benchmark for quality. Cisco Powered Managed Service designation requirements are based on the Information Technology Infrastructure Library(R) (ITIL) framework of best practices as well as market and industry requirements.
"We are extremely pleased to receive this recognition from Cisco," said John Landau, Senior VP, Global Managed Services for Tata Communications. "Receiving the Cisco Powered Managed Service designations not only validates the high standards Tata Communications places on delivering our managed services, but is also a testament to our ability to provide high value services to global enterprises."
"The market is moving toward the broad adoption of managed services as companies are shifting from managing their own IT infrastructure to buying technology as a service," said Rajesh Chainani, Vice President, Service Provider, Cisco India & SAARC. "With Cisco Powered Managed Service designations, Tata Communications has made an investment in obtaining the training, skills and knowledge necessary to play a pivotal role in meeting this increasing demand."
Tata Communications participated in an audit of its network operations center as a part of the Managed Service Channel Program process. The Cisco Powered Managed Service designations recognize Tata Communications' work to acquire the resources and establish the procedures to deploy, control, and support its managed services. Customers look to the Cisco Powered brand to signal a predictable, globally-consistent and seamless service delivery throughout the entire lifecycle of their IT systems.
"Delivering reliable, SLA-backed solutions that satisfy our customers' combined business and technical requirements is our utmost priority," continued Mr. Landau. "The Cisco Powered brand provides Tata Communications Customers with confidence that they can purchase robust, rigorously managed network and security services from Tata Communications as an alternative to directly acquiring the hardware and assembling the 7x24x365 skilled staff required to operate it."
The Cisco Powered Managed Service designations and its participation in the Managed Services Channel Program are Tata Communications' latest milestones in its overall commitment to standards-based service delivery. Tata Communications is a Cisco Certified TelePresence Connection Service Provider, and in June, Tata Communications attained the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 20000 and 27001 certification for its Managed Hosting, Managed Storage Services, Hosted Messaging Services, along with its Data Centers. Additionally, the company's Managed Security Operations Center recently achieved ISO 27001 certification and renewed its ISO 14001 certification.
