COPENHAGEN, December 15 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, 17 December, COP15 negotiations are going to be drawing to a close in Copenhagen. BBC World News and The Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) have invited some of the world's leading voices and decision makers to debate one of the most important issues facing mankind. The Greatest Debate on Earth will be broadcast to a worldwide audience.

The Greatest Debate onEarth is the Climate Summit's window to the world. The debate will be recorded at Koncerthuset, Copenhagen's new concert center, where BBC World's HARDtalk host Stephen Sackur, along with the participants, will seek to answer the question 'How much has Copenhagen achieved in the battle against climate change?

'The Greatest Debate on Earth' is important because it offers a unique possibility for framing an open worldwide debate about the climate. And - honouring the best traditions of the BBC and DR for free and independent journalism - we will ask concrete questions and demand that the world's top decision makers makeclear what they think of the solutions for the climate that have been arrived at during COP15.

The Greatest Debate on Earth will take place in the world famous architect Jean Nouvel's newly built concert center in Copenhagen, Koncerthuset, hosting an international audience consisting of more than 1200 international students and people from NGOs and businesses.The debate will be recorded, edited and then broadcast on DR and other major nationalTV channels, as well as running on BBC World News.

The Greatest Debate on Earth will be broadcast worldwide in a unique partnership between the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) and BBC World News. Copenhagen Capacity and Wonderful Copenhagen have helped setting up the media partnership, which is also supported by the Marketing Denmark Foundation.
