LONDON, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- This week sees the official launch of the 'Watch Them Grow' campaign and sunflower growing competition from Renaissance Learning.
Every primary and secondary school in the UK has been sent a packet of seeds and a poster containing hints and tips on how to get their sunflowers off to the best possible start. Over the course of the coming months, additional materials and suggestions for classroom activities will be sent to schools that, in turn, will be able to upload pictures and messages to the 'Watch Them Grow' website (http://www.watchthemgrow.co.uk).
At the end of the campaign prizes will be awarded for the tallest sunflower and the biggest sunflower head at both primary and secondary level.
Dirk Foch, Managing Director, Renaissance Learning UK Ltd. comments:
The aim of this campaign is to not only combine education and enjoyment in terms of encouraging schools across the country to take part in this sunflower growing competition, but also help recognise the fact that a class of pupils is made up individuals - each with their own needs. By identifying the level at which pupils actually understand what they are being taught in terms of writing, English and maths - and teaching them accordingly - they can be allowed to grow and reach their full potential; which is something we passionately believe in at Renaissance Learning.
