HUERTH, Germany, February 4 /PRNewswire/ -- WebhostingDay is to be held, for what is already the fifth time, on March 18th-20th, 2009 at Phantasialand near Cologne, Germany. Now grown to a three-day event, as the largest web hosting event in Europe it has continued to increase from year to year. One important reason for this development is the number of partner companies contributing to WebhostingDay both as exhibitors and presenting talks, while there were about 40 in the previous year, in 2009 there are more than 50. Amongst those contributing are such well-known companies as Microsoft, Intel, AMD, Parallels, interxion, HP and Fujitsu Siemens Computers. This is a clear signal of the great support the event has received within the hosting industry. Moreover, the current status of visitor registrations indicates that there will be a new record for attendance as well.
More than 500 attendants were registered within the first three days after the online registration had gone live. Based on previous experience, over 1,200 visitors can be expected. The response is really quite overwhelming and once again demonstrates that we entirely meet the hosting industry's demand for a networking and innovation forum taking place in Europe, explains Thomas Strohe, director of intergenia AG and WebhostingDay organizer. The fact that visitors from all over the world register, and that the majority of them come from the CEO/CTO level, accounts for the event's high significance, continues Strohe.
Top-class senior management experts from the most important hosting and telecommunication companies will, again in 2009, be engaged as speakers for main.FORUM, which takes place on two of the mornings. On March 18th for instance, there will be a main.FORUM talk by Shannon Poulin, Enterprise Marketing Director at Intel, about the topic of Energy Efficient Servers, and Allen Clark, Industry Director Worldwide Software + Services Industry Communications Sector at Microsoft, states the importance of Software-plus-Services. On March 19th, amongst others, Serguei Bellousov, Chairman and CEO of Parallels, attends to the topic Cloud Computing, which currently plays a major role in the industry, and Jochen Polster, Vice President of Marketing EMEA at AMD, explains the advantages of Quad-Core AMD Opteron(TM) Processors for Cloud Computing.
