I have a a Ph.D. in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and am an expert in the fields of molecular biology, microbiology, and bioscience education.
I spent seven years as a faculty member in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Miami School of Medicine, Miami, FL, where I conducted laboratory research and taught microbiology and molecular biology to undergraduates, graduate students, and medical students.
After leaving academia, I spent two years at Transcell Technologies, a biopharmaceutical company in Monmouth Junction, NJ where I was lead scientist and project manger of an antibacterial drug discovery program. From 1996 to 1998, I was Chairman of Biology at Middlesex County College, (a two-year college located in Edison, NJ) where I helped to craft a bioscience technician training program. For the past 10 year or so I have been a management consultant, founded two companies and most recently decided to try my hand at science and medical writing.
