About Joseph Dr. Joseph Perrone received his Doctorate of Science from The Johns Hopkins University, did a Post-Doctoral fellowship at Harvard University and got his B.S. in Biology from the University of Delaware. He is currently the Chief Science Officer of the Center for Accountability in Science, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing balance to alarmist media stories and NGO campaigns regarding the risks posed by modern technology, medicines, and products. His work is regularly featured by major media outlets, including The Washington Post, TIME Magazine, Reuters, CBS News, Fox News, The Hill, Sacramento Bee, and New York Daily News.

Prior to his position with CAS, Dr. Perrone worked for 13 years with the Becton Dickinson Company where he was responsible for Business development, Sales and Marketing for Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. In that role, he worked closely with funding agencies and Ministries of Health to develop strategies for the use of diagnostics in public health programs. For his work in advancing diagnostics, he served as an advisor to the World Health Organization, served on the WHO Diagnostic Steering Committee, received numerous marketing awards and the R&D 100 award, and has been an invited lecturer and speaker in over fifty countries.
