Seven talented budding scientists have set off to the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, Israel to take part in the annual International Dr Bessie Lawrence Summer Science Institute. This programme has been receiving young people from around the world to discover science in this world-class environment for forty years. Schools from all over the country are invited by Weizmann UK to participate and entry is open to all VI form students. Three weeks are spent on a variety of research projects in the labs of prominent scientists. After an intensive exposure to the Institute's state-of-the-art laboratories, the students conclude their visit with a field trip in the Negev desert. According to old alumni, it's a huge amount of fun - not just a life-changing experience!
