KEIGHLEY, England, August 4 /PRNewswire/ --
- froggybank.co.uk Releases 101 Tips to Beat the Credit Crunch
More people have changed their utility provider through the UK's biggest consumer loyalty network in the last two days, than did in the previous three months.
Since British Gas announced its 35% price increase on Wednesday, the froggybank.co.uk (http://www.froggybank.co.uk/) network has seen a massive increase in switchers.
For the first time ever utilities are the top selling category in the network.
And many shoppers are also getting a cash bonus to switch supplier, through sites such as froggybank.co.uk.
Scottish Power (http://www.froggybank.co.uk/scottish-power/) doubled its cashback offering of up to GBP72 on Wednesday.
Other popular offers include up to GBP100 cashback from NPower Business, plus cash from comparison sites Switch with Which and Energy Helpline
froggybank's marketing manager Nadeem Azam said: "We've never seen a rush of business like this, and certainly not for utilities. The response to the announcement has been swift and brutal.
"This is the largest number of people switching utility providers in just two days since we started the froggybank network four years ago. We expect the switching to continue for some time."
The network consists of 180 websites led by froggybank.co.uk the UK's first and only green 100% cashback website.
It's estimated there are more than 20 million online shoppers in the UK who are yet to discover cashback and get back up to 100% of the middleman's fee on all their online shopping.
Shoppers log onto a cashback site before making online purchases from major retailers as normal.
The referral fee paid by the retailer to the cashback site is returned to the shopper.
To help consumers even more, froggybank recently released a free comprehensive consumer guide "101 tips to beat the credit crunch". This is available to read and download at http://www.froggybank.co.uk/news/101-tips-to-survive-the-credit-crunch/.
froggybank.co.uk has committed to work with PURE the Clean Planet Trust, to offset one million tons of carbon by 2012.
That's equivalent to the annual emissions of 180,000 average UK homes.
100% of the cashback paid by retailers can be turned into charitable donations that will support PURE. Shoppers can alternatively give the money to another charity, or keep some or all of it for themselves.
