LONDON, January 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The amount of condoms purchased by more than half a million members of the UK's biggest customer loyalty shopping network has gone up.

Shoppers with froggybank.co.uk (http://www.froggybank.co.uk/) pushed online sales up 3 per cent over the last three months, despite a sales push by traditional offline retailers.

The web sales figures from October to December 2009 were compared to the same period in 2008.

We always see condom sales rise in the last quarter of the year, but this year's sales are higher than usual, explained froggybank.co.uk's marketing manager Nadeem Azam.

And that's despite promotions by many traditional retailers keen to hang onto market share of condoms, as they attract shoppers into store.

It could be down to a number of factors. Maybe recent safe sex campaigns are working well. Or maybe more people are choosing a quiet night in as an inexpensive way to enjoy themselves!

As the UK's biggest customer loyalty network, froggybank.co.uk has unique access to comprehensive data about UK online shopping habits.

Shoppers log on to froggybank.co.uk before buying from 2,500 mainstream online retailers they would normally visit.

They are then rewarded with cashback on their purchases.

Cashback shopping is one of the fastest growing online marketing sectors, yet still presents massive opportunities for businesses.

Up to 20 million UK shoppers are thought to be unaware they can earn money back on their purchases.

The cashback is actually the referral fee paid by the retailer to the cashback site for sending traffic. The site gives it to the shopper.
