LONDON, September 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB), the professional and regulatory body for pharmacists, is successfully deploying mvision's unique managed video conferencing service to enable them to hold regular internal face-to-face meetings. Video conferencing is also being used by the disciplinary committees for dialling in witnesses unable to attend in person.
RPSGB previously had Polycom systems all connected to ISDN running over their existing network. They were struggling to make video conferencing an easy-to-use and reliable communication tool. Martin Bagley, AV Support Manager for RPSGB, found setting up meetings stressful as he could never guarantee that they would work.

mvision installed Tandberg Edge 95 MXP's (video units that transform flat screens into high-definition video conference systems) at the London, Edinburgh and Cardiff offices, and Tandberg Centric 1700 MXPs (HD desktop video systems) in the US. These were all connected to mvision's dedicated video network, enabling video conferencing to be run completely independently of RPSGB's main IT network.
With video now being run over separate bandwidth, and with the mvision network guaranteeing 99.995% reliability, users have really felt the difference. They're also much more confident in using the systems, and now expect their meetings to take place without any hitches.
RPSGB pay a single fixed monthly fee that includes unlimited point-to-point video calls.
